Pune: The Koregaon Park-based Poona School and Home for Blind is making unique efforts of exploring and developing the creativity among the visually challenged and making productive use of their abilities. This is helping these students become independent and confident, remarked Marathi actor Mukta Barve on Saturday.
Barve was speaking during the inauguration of an exhibition organised by The Poona School and Home for the Blind at Koregaon Park. The exhibition showcases various items made by the students of the school for the forthcoming Diwali festival.
The trustees of The Poona School and Home for Blind, Mrunal Pawar, Vasudev Medankar, the school Principal Chandrakant Bhosale, medical officer of the school Dr Sanjay Naik and others were present.
Later, a Diwali mela organised by The Poona School and Home for Blind, Kothrud was inaugurated by corporator Sangeeta Deshpande. Mrunal Pawar was also present. The exhibition will end on Sunday.
