Poona Blind School and Home for the Blind was set up with the noble intent of helping the visually impaired to see the future bright and clear.

1988

Mrs. Mangala D. Desai (Principal) received “NATIONAL TEACHER AWARD” from Shri R. Vyankat Raman, President of India, New Delhi.

1997

First Prize -Performed “Swatantraychi Yashogatha” by our 80 Student in Mayor Trophy.

2008

Mega Employment registration Seminar for Visually Impaired Person.

2011

First Prize in All India Dance Competition Organised by AMWAY, Ahemadabad.

2012

First Prize in All India Dance Competition Organised by AMWAY, Kolkata.

2014

First prize in Shotput & 2nd Prize Jevellion Throw organised by AICB New Delhi.

2015

Principal Mr. Chandrakant Bhosale Received State Disable Award by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Maharashtra State.

2016

Student participates in Paralympics, national, state & district level sports competition and win Prizes. Also our student Pandurang Jambe got 1st prize in Javelin throw in National Sports Competition, New Delhi.

2017

5 student participated in Geeta Pathan Competition at Shrungeri Muth, Karnataka.

1990

Opening Of Teacher Training Centre For Visually Impaired. Teacher Training Centre- Diploma in Special Education (VI) Course – DSE (VI) – (1990-2014) – around 500 Teacher Trainees Passed Out from this Centre & Working as a Special Teacher in Special School, SSA, Normal School.

2008

Programme on “Ruturang & Maharashtrachi Lokdhara” Chief Guest were Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University Mr. Narendra Jadhav.

2011

Organised Safety Week Programme with Pune Traffic Police.

2012

First Prize in Pune District Sports Competition of Disabled.

2014

Winner in Divisional Cricket tournament Maharashtra.

First Prize in All India Dance Competition Organised by AMWAY, Chandigarh.

Our school student Mr. Amol Karche selected in Indian Blind Cricket Team. He has performed well in the World Cup held in South Africa and Bring the glory i.e world cup for our country in 2014. He was felicitated by our Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modiji with Rs. 5 lakh.

Received “Pune Mayor Trophy” in Sports Competition.

Our Two Students Swaraj Ghule & Rohit Bhargune Selected in under 18 & under 14 Maharashtra Blind Cricket Team.
